Don Alexander traveled to Dallas, TX recently for the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation’s Volunteer Leadership Conference. The program included advances in research, engagement of donors and volunteers, advocacy and the CF’s impressive Compass program which serves as a “hotline” for CF families to navigate the complexities of health insurance, available grants and subsidies and even situations such as the removal of black mold from a CF family’s home! At the conference, Don met a number of families that were directly affected by CF. He left the conference awestruck and inspired by the sense of community, hope and purpose these families share to find a cure for CF!
