May 2015 – The Arris team once again donned our blue and white and took to the streets of Raleigh’s Halifax Mall area to walk a 5k on behalf of patients suffering from Cystic Fibrosis (CF). It was lovely seventy degree weather and we were joined by dozens of teams from other corporations and teams that were walking on behalf of specific patients.
WRAL’s Deborah Morgan MC’d the event with presentations by parents of children with CF and patients themselves. CF Carolinas Center Director, Kay James, rounded out the field by thanking everyone for being present, reminding us to advocate on behalf of patients and spreading some good news about a recent FDA advisory panel’s recommendation of a combination therapeutic designed to treat a larger percentage of the CF population.
The Arris team, through its partnerships with an outstanding, caring community of clients, was able to and continues to raise thousands of dollars for the CF Foundation. Around 90% of every dollar donated goes straight to CF research. Because CF is a genetic disease, one therapy does not fit all. The foundation’s goal is the eradication of the disease for all affected patients. As CF is a fatal disease and killer of children, it has a special place in the hearts of Arris’s employees and we look forward to continuing to support the foundation in its future endeavors.
